Nowadays, since customers have an increasing expectation and living standard, there are different new trends and development about hotel lodging.



1.Safety and security
Certainly, hotel is pursuing a higher safety and security system. Also, because of natural disasters and recent attacks (terrorist attack) on international hotels such as the Kabul hotel attack which at least nine civilians were killed in a Taliban attack on a luxury hotel in Kabul so the industry more focus on the security issues.

Under the pressure of climate change and people became more environmentally friendly so hotel tends to go green in order to save the plant and improve its’ reputation.
2.1Water and Energy
   Some hotel are increasing resource efficiency by the implementation of micro –generation technologies such as solar thermal water heating and techniques such as rainwater harvesting to minimize the use of resource.
   To save water and energy, hotels now try to consider installing an ozone laundry system which uses electricity and oxygen in a special way to replace many of the chemicals normally used in a traditional washing. It can save more water and energy. Also, schedule an energy audit through the local energy provider or a local energy auditor.
   By using an energy management system (EMS) to control air handling units, HVAC, and lighting to prevent not necessary conditioning space.
2.2 Food service
¢ Hotel restaurants try to purchase organic and local food, or even plant organic food to provide fresh food. It not only can encourage the local food producer but also it can save more transportation cost and energy.

To escape from the boring reality, more people are looking for some new and creative experience while 
traveling so theme and unusual hotel are becoming a new hit. Unusual hotels are designing with different 
theme, culture and characteristic. For example the sand hotel in united kingdom, Jungle Hotel in Mexico, Ice 
Hotel in Canada, Cave Hotel in Turkey and Underwater Hotel in Fiji.
 


4.      Speed and precision
Fast booking, fast check-in, fast Wi-Fi and fast responses to customer service needs will need to be implemented within hotels. If what customers are seeking is not quick enough, they will turn to Twitter, Facebook, Yelp or Trip Advisor to voice their complaints.

5.WOW customer service
Service today consists of four levels: basic, expected, desired and WOW. Basic service can be found at the post office whereas expected service can be found at most fast food restaurants and many businesses. Desired service is often found at good hotels and restaurants but WOW Service is the only way to ensure repeat business. By creating an impressive, unique guest experience that exceeds all expectations, you are able to capture the customer.

With the development of latest technology, it is no doubt that the hotel technology has also improved a lot in both customer service and management.
¢For, most common technology is the room Wi-Fi, high-speed internet network and which to fit the new age customer’s businesses and entertainment need.
¢For the in room system technology, more and more hotel has improved their in room technology to achieve a better service standard such remote control, in room music and movie and bill display.
¢The new radio frequency identification (RFID) system enables customers to locate each other and the hotel and allow them to pay for meal or other payment.
¢The use of mobile can apply in the travel application, although this application had been used for years, it was being used in a bad capacity. Nowadays, it can apply in the mobile app for customer to get updated hotel’s information such as room detail, hotel facilities. Also, it can let the customers to book room by mobile app.
 

8.Capacity Control
It is about the sale of inventories of hotel rooms, airline seats, auto rentals, and tickets to attractions.
Owners of these assets control their sale and distribution, but increasingly control is falling into the hands of
those who own and manage global reservation systems and/or negotiate for large buying groups. Factors
involved in the outcome will be telecommunications, software, available satellite capacity, governmental
regulations, limited capital, and the travel distribution network.


9. Vacation Ownership
It is a period of time hat you can buy for a specific property (usually a residence at a resort) or multi-
destination club, during which the right-to-use the property belongs to you.

In Recent years, leading hospitality companies such as Hilton, Marriott, have been building and converting upscale hotels in order to satisfy the Vacation ownership, membership demand. These reputable companies will not tie their names to an untrusting business.

There are two basic types:
1. Right-to-use: Owners are essentially taking a lease on a property, usually for one to two weeks a year, for a specific period of time. In most cases Owners  can rent, give away, or sell your time to someone else whenever you like.

2. Fee simple: Owners are granted rights to a piece of property for a certain number of years, but the property is actually owned by a set of trustees. Ownership continues forever and the ownership of the property can even be willed or passed along to heirs. Owners of Fee Simple timeshares can sell, rent or gift their property or usage rights at any time.
